How Long will my Interior Paint Job Last?

Interior painting often lasts longer than exterior as it isn’t introduced to as many harmful elements. Most would tell you that you should paint the interior of your home every three to five years. However, at Alliance Painting, we use high-quality Sherwin-Williams paint and offer a Lifetime Warranty to help your interior paint last for many years to come.

Exterior PAINTING FAQS

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO PAINT YOUR HOME’S EXTERIOR?

Exterior paint applies best in warm temperatures, so it is best to paint your home’s exterior in the late spring through early fall. This allows the paint to dry at a proper speed and is the best chance at avoiding high humidity or precipitation that could prevent the paint from applying properly to the home’s surface.

WHAT EXTERIOR PAINT COLOR SHOULD I CHOOSE TO SELL MY HOME?

When painting your home’s exterior to sell, it is most common to choose a neutral and muted color. Lighter colors are also the most popular such as off-white, light gray, taupe, and light blue or green. If you are wanting to make a statement and choose a bolder and darker color, the best sellers are red, yellow, and blue.

Cabinet PAINTING FAQS

WHAT TYPE OF PAINT IS BEST FOR CABINETS?

Semi-gloss and gloss finishes are the best paint choice for cabinets. This is due to the fact that cabinets see a lot of use and wear, and glossier finishes offer higher durability as well as provide a surface that is easier to clean.

Brick PAINTING FAQS

image

DO YOU HAVE TO CLEAN BRICK PRIOR TO PAINTING?

Yes. It is extremely important that you thoroughly clean the brick surface with soap and water to remove all mold, dirt, and debris prior to painting. If you fail to clean the brick properly, the paint could have a hard time adhering to the surface — compromising the quality and service life of the paint job. When you choose our team at Alliance Painting, we perform all the preparation for you to ensure that you receive the highest quality brick painting services.

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO APPLY PAINT TO A BRICK SURFACE?

At Alliance Painting, we use a masonry brush to apply the paint to brick — stroking both horizontally and vertically. This ensures that the paint gets into all the small holes and seams found in the brick surface.

HOW MANY COATS OF LIMEWASH DO I NEED TO APPLY?

When wanting the whitewash effect, you will only need to apply a single coat of Classico Limewash. However, if you are wanting a solid-colored finish, it will take two to three coats of limewash before it becomes non-transparent and offers a solid-color to your brick surface.
